Carl:
Carl met Marc in Swansea, South Wales and they formed
several moderately successful bands together. In between touring, they
also both worked in a music store in order to get their hands on cheap
gear. One of the most successful of these bands was the post-punk power
pop Ground Control, who's career in the early 1980's included touring
the UK, supporting several chart acts, recording at Rockfield studios,
releasing an independent single Cover Girl, and being signed to the
same Californian management company The Knack at the time of their big
chart hit My Sherona.
Carl moved to London and recorded several songs for a
Radio 1 session. An appearance on BBC2 followed, with Carl's band The
Jones Boys playing live from BBC Manchester. He also worked as a session
guitarist, and played on a single by ex-Zombie Colin Blunstone, several
albums, and also worked with Stuart Elliot (Kate Bush, Cockney Rebel).
Carl kept in contact with Marc, saw the Snake Corps play
live several times, and also recorded a small amount of backing vocals
on the bands first album Flesh On Flesh. Whether any of this performance
made it onto the finished album is unknown! Carl also co-wrote “Always
be the same” which appeared on the b-side of the Snake Corps 12”
single “Victory Parade”. He recorded and produced Testament
at his studio along with Marc, and plays all the instruments. |
